This course provides a overview of scientific conduct and ethics, what it means to be a scientist, how to become acquainted with academic practice, and ways to maintain scientific integrity. It does this by discussing topics such as the nature of science and the societal role it fulfills. The objectives are to understand the basic principles of science, to have a realistic image of science and scientists, to recognize integrity dilemmas, and to know and understand the differences and similarities of various disciplines.
